Njoki Njehu, Fight Inequality Alliance Pan Africa Coordinator said: "Today marks Africa Liberation Day, but we as Africans are still living in the age of inequality. Our struggles for true liberation continue. We want to remake our own economic destiny, without the recipe for disaster dished out by the IMF and the World Bank that only serves to keep our countries locked in a stranglehold of debt and austerity.
"These International Financial Institutions plan to host their Annual Meetings on our continent later this year in Marrakech. They are not welcome - their outdated policies are the last thing that Africa needs to overcome the economic and climate crises impacting millions".
