About Fight Inequality Alliance

Fight Inequality Alliance is a growing global movement organising and mobilising to counter the excessive concentration of power and wealth in the hands of a small elite. We are building a just, equal and sustainable world. We are embarking on an exciting new phase in the alliance’s history, where we aim to become the most powerful global movement tackling the power of the 1% yet. To achieve this, we are embarking on our 10-year road map (2023 to 2033).  For the alliance, the next decade is a critical time for the system that replaces neoliberalism to be defined and fought for. Whilst we organise at a larger scale to change the inequalities pressing on the daily lives of people living on the frontlines of inequality, we will also build people powered alternatives to the current system. The values that guide and drive our work are listed here.

BACKGROUND

The September 2025 GenZ uprising has triggered an embarking of a structural reflection and reconstruction process to build trust and strengthen legitimacy among the wider stakeholder including the youth groups, and renew its leadership and membership structures. This process aims to broaden movement voices, ensure meaningful participation of diverse struggles, and prepare for a democratically reconstituted National Council by June 2026.

Given the complexities of the transition and the need for independent facilitation to support consultations, document findings, ensure safe and neutral processes, and guide a pathway towards a renewed FIA Nepal, FIA global secretariat seeks an independent and trusted external facilitator.

OBJECTIVES:

The primary objectives of the facilitation process are:

  1. Broadening Movement Voices and Leadership: To explore how we can meaningfully engage broader movements such as land justice groups, victims of loan sharks, Gen Z activists, marginalized communities, agrarian/peasants’ movements, and climate justice, etc. to build an alliance that truly represents the diversity and aspirations of people struggling for justice and equality.

  2. Rebuilding Trust and Legitimacy: During the global Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) process,we received a reflection regarding the formal affiliation of host organizations with political parties. There is a concern that such affiliations may result in significant risks, including potential donor complaints and challenges to the organizing processes at the national level. To identify and facilitate steps FIA Nepal should consider this principle in the objectives of the renewed FIA-Nepal to take to rebuild trust and external legitimacy by creating space for new actors, underrepresented voices, and diverse social movements.
