2025: The power of the 99% against inequality
These moments reflect the emergence of a Global South-led movement - to meet this moment where the global economy and its rules are being reshaped - that is organised, strategic and sustained. Through challenging elite spaces, shaping narratives and building our shared agenda, 2025 showed that FIA and allies are a coherent global force.
Spearheading We the 99: 2025’s defining moment
The Global Assembly and We the 99 People’s Summit in Johannesburg in November were defining moments. While elite leaders discussed trade disputes at G20 meetings, the People’s Summit solidified a Global South-led unity that the G20 process lacked. FIA combines constituencies, political education and infrastructure with the ability to mobilise and influence sustainably over time.
